We Love Volunteers!

Our community members volunteer for ICA events for various reasons - to meet neighbours, apply skills and give back to the community. As a volunteer-run association, we rely on our dedicated volunteers to keep the ICA moving forward.

At the ICA, our Volunteer Program strives to put your skills to use and to provide meaningful volunteering opportunities. If you have skills outside of what is advertised below, please contact our Volunteer Director at volunteers@icacalgary.com - it would be our pleasure to match you with an opportunity best suited to your strengths.

The ICA has a 12 member board (plus additional Directors-at-Large) that renews every September at our AGM. Please contact us if you are interested in running for a Board Position.

Volunteer Opportunities

Are you someone who likes to meet new people, stay abreast of what’s happening in your neighbourhood,  working with a team but can work independently? Are you available to volunteer 10-15 hours a month?

Our monthly newsletter is an important communication link for Inglewood residents and the Inglewood Community Association is looking for a special person to assume the role of Advertising Manager. This volunteer position requires excellent computer and customer service skills and an eye for detail. It will involve interaction with local businesses. Work mostly from home via e-mail and phone.

If this sounds interesting to you, please e-mail   volunteers@icacalgary.com

The ICA is looking for a dedicated volunteer for the role of Webmaster, to ensure that our website is well maintained and content is always current.

    • All news and events are updated through our Facebook page - if you have ever used Facebook, you will easily be able to update our site!
    • There are usually a couple of website updates each week, using a simple content management system, and the Google Suite apps.
    • You will need to make a new promo image every now and again - but there is a template for this (if you want to add your own design skills, this is a great way to put your stamp on the site).
    • There would be a full handover, and help with getting up to speed (but this would only take an hour - as we’ve said… it’s pretty simple!)
    • Also note: there are very few meetings to attend, as this isn’t a board-member position. If you know how to use email, you are good to go.

Our Webmaster is a key member of the ICA’s Communications Team and the role requires a certain level of professionalism to represent the ICA online.

Some IT experience would also be an asset.  If you’re enthusiastic, detail oriented and have excellent communications skills, please apply to volunteers@icacalgary.com

Are you a computer whizz? Want to put your stamp on Inglewood? We are seeking a Layout Editor for our monthly newsletter. You will need to be familiar with Mac InDesign (and have a subscription) and be keen to apply your attention to detail and ability to meet timelines to make our newsletter great.

    Commitment: 15 hours/month

    Contact volunteers@icacalgary.ca to express interest
